Calgary Family Photographer: Sarah and Jason

Back in September before the leaves started to change colour, Tye and I met Jason, Sarah and their two adorable daughters for a family session on St. Patrick’s Island. We had an awesome morning exploring the River Walk, sipping coffee at the Simmons building in the East Village and running around the park. Can I just say, I LOVE my job!!

The park is a beautiful space with a playground and a place where you can wade into the Bow River.  The varied scenery includes lush green backgrounds, river and city views. This is an awesome location for anyone looking for a lot of variety in their family, couples or wedding photo shoot.

With family shoots, we try and get a good variety of both posed and candid shots. We like to document a family playing together and enjoying each other’s company. This helps create authentic interactions and emotions. As a photographer, the candid shots are my favourite. They are the ones that inspire and encourage me to keep shooting.20_959_fullPINSarah and Jason’s daughters were a pleasure to shoot. I had a blast playing with them and capturing candid family moments. Toddlers are so much to photograph, they have a special way of keeping you on your toes! When taking photos of kids, you need to be quick and flexible.
